Former paramilitary personnel hunger strike enters day 8 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 18 : The ongoing hunger strike of former Central Paramilitary personnel held under the banner of Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association Forces Welfare Association entered 8th day on Friday against the discrimination and injustice inflicted upon them by the Central Government. "We all are defending the Indian Borders and its integrity and sovereignty but the Central Government have granted OROP only for the Armed Forces of Defence depriving the paramilitary forces, this is a great factor to divide the loyal, dedicated and tested soldiers," they said. "The retirees, widows and dependents of Paramilitary Forces faced difficulties and problems but nobody to take care of these unfortunate braves of yesteryears," they said. "GoI is dividing the soldiers discriminating and refusing the fundamental rights provided under the constitutional provisions by not granting us the One Rank One Pension (OROP), Military Service Pay (MSP) as well as Grade Pay," they added. They urged the Union Government to grant the OROP, MSP and Grade Pay to them. |
