Former NC Minister's complex sealed on CM's order | Mufti for tough action against land mafia | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 18: The State Government has directed officials to act tough against the land mafia including a former Minister. Sources said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has communicated to the higher officials that examples would be set up by taking tough action against the powerful nexus of politicians-bureaucrats-police. "The complex being constructed by former NC Minister in Jammu was sealed on the directions of the CM. The Minister had raised the construction on the land of khud in clear violations of the law," said sources. They said that to clean up the system, the CM had specifically handed over the Revenue portfolio to Javeed Mustafa Mir. "Mir is a tough guy. He can neither be approached for any wrongdoing nor can he be pressurized by any means. He knows how to deal with the corrupt and powerful mafia and it's for this reason that a big shark like a former NC Minister has been touched," said a senior official, wishing not to be named. Sources said the Revenue Minister on the directions of the CM had got the details of the State land encroached both in Jammu and Kashmir regions and had also directed officials to dig more cases and prepare a strong case against them so that they are not able to get any relief from the court. "The second list of corrupt bureaucrats and police officials is being prepared and some cases are also being discussed by the Minister. He is also scrutinizing how these officials have made properties in the name of others but used their positions. The strong cases with all the facts are being made and soon more such high end constructions will be sealed," said the officials. |
