Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 18: Good news for dengue patients. The disease can be prevented by papaya and goat milk. However, the information has made the items rare commodities with Papaya leaf selling at Rs 500 and a litre of goat milk at Rs 2000. Goat milk, it is believed helps in increasing the platelet count. However, there is no scientific proof to support this.
And a pill made from papaya leaf extract has been found to be effective in treating dengue patients. The pill has been developed by a Bangaluru firm and scientific proofs confirm the potency of the wonder pill. Besides neem and coriander leaves, it is believed help in subsiding the fever. While some suggest basil leaves as a medicine for dengue, plain water keeps the body hydrated. Water also regulates the temperature. New Delhi is in severe grip of the disease. According to rough estimates, as many as 2000 cases have so far been identified.
