JAMMU, Sept 18: Panchayat Kaleeth defeated Panchayat Sidhar 39-11 to claim the under-16 boys' kabaddi title in the inter-panchayat sports meet of Khour block held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government High School, Khour.
Earlier Panchayat Kaeeth thrashed Panchayat Narayana 26-16 points to reach the final.
Meanwhile, in volleyball, Panchayat Deharyan defeated Panchayat Pangali in straight sets.
In wrestling, Shakti Singh of Panchayat Pallanwala, Rakesh Singh of Panchayat Pargwal, Vikram Singh of Panchayat Gurha Manhansan, Suresh Kumar and Nitesh Choudhary of Panchayat Mattoo and Sunny Singh of Panchayat Pallanwala secured first place in weight groups of 42 kg, 46 kg, 54 kg, 58 kg, 63 kg and 69 kg respectively.
In athletics, Koushal Sharma and Arun Singh of Panchayat Hmairpur emerged winners in 400 and 800 meters events respectively.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by Headmaster of the host High School, Khour, Savita Padha. She was accompanied by Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), Veer Ji Bhat and Ramesh Choudhary. |
