| HRA Katra Opposes slaughter house at Khanpur Nagrota | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 18 : A delegation of Hotel & Restaurant Association (HRA), Katra met Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to express strong resentment with regard to the move to construct a slaughter House on way to Vaishno Devi having visibility from more than a kilometer on the main highway enroute to Vaishno Devi at Khanpur Nagrota.
The delegation led by HRA Katra president Rakesh Wazir and Chairman Shyam Lal Kesar conveyed their displeasure over the establishment of proposed Slaughter House at Khanpur to Commissioner JMC, Mandeep Kaur.
Wazir said that the whole economy of the state is dependent upon the Vaishno Devi pilgrims and if seen minutely this Slaughter House besides affecting the sentiments of the people will severely affect the yatra as well. He further said that the proposed place being so beautiful the government should auction this site for some beautiful resort or other such item and a small portion of revenue generated out of it be spent for taking land at an isolated place suitable for it and should make Slaughter House over there, avoiding the objections of the locals as well as of the general public.
The Commissioner Muncipal corporation listened the delegation patiently and assured proper consideration to the matter. |
