JAMMU, Sept 18: Jammu is going to host a lecture on the topic " Medical Emergencies in Clinical Practice" at the Convention hall, The Business school (MBA Dept) University of Jammu on Sunday, 20th of September from 3PM to 6PM. Dr.Gautam Sharma, Secretary IDA, said that this seminar will be fruitful for practicing doctors, interns and PG students. He said that in view of the recent deaths reported from all over the country during the treatment, we can no longer continue to ignore the medical emergencies which are a neglected part of our practices. He told that Dr.Rohit Punga's lecture is focused on medical conditions and the entire scope of emergencies which can arise in the hospitals and clinics and their management in detail. Dr. Sharma also informed that many medical and dental graduates, Post Graduates and practicing doctors have shown their interest to attend this seminar. Dr. Rohit Punga, who is the key speaker, was exposed to Emergency management of head injury during his tenure of work in the Dept of Neurosurgery, KS Hegde Medical College. Further completed his certificate in simulated Microsurgery. Dr. Bhupinder Singh, President IDA told that this lecture would provide an insight to the preparedness both mental and physical that is required to be able to manage the emergencies. Basic life support manoeuvres will be discussed in detail. Dr. Kunal Vuthoo, Convener CDE, IDA, told that the fee structure is very nominal as students including interns and PGs will be charged only Rs.400, IDA member Rs.500, NON-IDA Practitioners Rs.600 and On-spot registration would be Rs.700. He said that lecture will be followed by question answer session and high tea. On-spot registration will be from 2.15 to 2.45PM.
