rajouri, Sept 18: Health Department Rajouri in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services Jammu and International Union Against TB & Lung Disease Voluntary Association (IUATB&LDVA), today organized a one day anti-tobacco workshop at Himalayan Degree College(HEM) Thandikassi, Rajouri. Shabir Ahmed Bhat, DDC was the chief guest in the function while Dr Haeseb Mughal,SSP was the guest of honor Mohd Farooq Muztar Founder Patron of Himalayan Education Mission Society (HEMS) presided over the Function. Dr. Chaman Bhasin ,CMO presented the welcome address and also gave the Introduction of the event and said, " Health is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity but health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Treatment of tobacco related diseases and the loss of productivity caused therein, costs the country almost Rs. 13,500 crores annually, which is more than all the benefits accumulating in the form of revenue and employment generated by tobacco industry" Prof. Mohd Salim Wani Chairman HEMS explained the role of Education in controlling the Tobacco Consumption and Er Ashutosh Sharma, CEO International Committee for Development and Regional Co-operation, M.L Mangotra Assistant Commissioner Food, Angush Rana Assistant Controller Drugs also spoke on the occasion.
