07 bovine smugglers held, 23 bovine animals rescued | | | Early Times Report
kishtwar, Sept 18: In a major crackdown on bovine smuggling on Kishtwar-Sinthan- Srinagar road, Kishtwar police during last intervening night managed to rescue 23 bovine animals being illegally transported to valley with arrested seven persons involved in crime. Police have ascertained identities of accused as Ghulam Rasool s/o Ghulam Ahmad r/o Gohan Chak Vailoo Anantnag; Ishtiyaq Ahmad s/o Mohammad Rafiq r/o Pahalgam Sigdi, Sajad Hussain s/o Mohammad Akbar r/o Dillar Chatroo, Mohammad Iqbal s/o Habibullah r/o Rahal Inderwal, Mushtaq Ahmad s/o Ahad Lone r/o Singhpora, Ashiq Hussain s/o Abdul Aziz r/o Dillar Chatroo and Manzoor Ahmad s/o Ghulam Mohidin r/o Dillar Chatroo. "Acting on a specific information, Chatroo police during a naka on last intervening night foiled bovine smuggling bid with apprehension of above said seven Bovine smugglers from Diller Bridge in Passerkoot locality some 40 KM from Kishtwar and rescued 23 bovine animals from their possession, police sources said. They said a case under FIR No 47/2015 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chatroo in this regard. While talking to "Early Times" a senior police officer said that during preliminary investigations, it was revealed that the accused namely Ghulam Rasool Son of Ghulam Ahmad R/O Vailoo Anantnag visited Chatroo and other adjoining areas to buy bovines animals from different villages. He also hired some locals to help him to cross the jurisdiction towards Kashmir through traditional mountain routes via Paserkoot and via Sigdi Bhata. Police said that the arrests have been made by Police party headed by SI Rakesh Roshan under the close supervision of Sanjay Parihar KPS Dy SP DAR/ SDPO Chatroo, Abdul Qayoom KPS Additional SP Kishtwar under the overall supervision of Yougal Manhas KPS, SP Kishtwar. |
