Pak based internet Radio may focus on lies | | | During the last over 23 years the Kashmiri separatists have raked up the issue of what they call violations of human rights by the security forces in the state. And even the killing of militants in encounters with security forces are treated by these separatists as excesses in Kashmir. Though the print and electronic media would give prominence to alleged HR violation by forces, they would not give the requisite coverage to the atrocities actually committed by the terrorists on the innocent Kashmiris and the families of police and army personnel in the valley. How unfortunate it is! The Kashmiri separatists have received a further morale boosting with the launch of Radio Sada-i-Hurriyat Kashmir by Pakistan on internet. Since these separatists believe that the internet Radio channel would devote full time on false propaganda against the security forces in Kashmir, pro-Pak Hurriyat activist Ali Shah Geelani could not hide his joy while commenting on the start of the internet Radio channel. Expressing happiness, the Hurriyat congratulated the sponsors and organisers of the programme, hoping that the people of Kashmir would be misled by their anti-India propaganda. But it is going to be proved wrong. During the 1965 and 1971 wars also, Pakistan had started such propaganda radio stations to spread confusion. In one false news, it had claimed that Pak forces had occupied Poonch. Instead of getting happy over the launch of propaganda radio channel, the Hurriyat and its anti-India activists must realise that falsehood has not feet to stand on; it is only the truth that stands firm on ground and is going to be there for all times to come. Geelani could not hide his happiness because he knows that it is mainly the media that has so far kept them and their anti-India activities alive in Kashmir. Actually the authors of this internet Radio channel are in Pakistan and hence its bias against India and its security forces can be an expected phenomenon. Geelani must know that militants, in the last 25 years, have indulged in the worst kind of HR violations in the state, massacre of innocent people to spread terror, abduction and rape of women, forcible marriages and inhuman torture. One of the major HR violations having been committed by militants and their supporters has been the forcible eviction of over 3.50 lakh Pandits (Hindus) from the valley in 1990. The separatists have never condemned this forcible migration of Pandits and wrongly held then Governor Jagmohan responsible for this. It is a well established fact over 90 pc of the allegations of HR violations against the forces in the valley have been found fake after a thorough probes. These fake allegations, however, would not find any space in the media. It is strongly felt that Radio Sada-i-Hurriyat-e-Kashmir is definitely going to feed lies HR violations in Kashmir but it is unlikely to produce the "expected" results as the people of the state are wise enough to see through the evil designs of the neighbouring country. It is going to be a futile exercise on the part of Pakistan. But New Delhi should not take it lightly. It must take the help of experts to get the Pak propaganda radio channel blocked. This is must to stop the dissemination of false and concocted stories on this side of the border. Let India nip the evil in the bud. |
