Biometeric attendance to ensure employees' stay in offices | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 18: The government has made enrolment with the aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance mandatory for the government employees. And, this enrolment has to be done by the end of October failing which their salaries may be withheld. All the government employees, contractual workers and casual labourers have been asked to furnish details including their mode of recruitment.The order applies to pensioners as well. They a\have been told to obtain aadhar number by 30th of this month for their `digital identification' in the future. The system is likely to put an end to absenteeism in government offices. It is expected to prevent late arrival and early depareture of the employees. All future salary of the employees will be released after checking the biometric system, the order makes clear. "It will not be possible for the late comers to fudge working hours," an official said. The job of installing biometric devices in offices etc has been entrusted to the IT Department. |
