| MLA's supporters thrash Sarpanch in Arnia | | Kaun karega transformer inaugurate? | | Sumit Sharma

Jammu, Sept 23: Arnia area turned into a virtual battlefield today after supporters of MLA Bishnah and a local Sarpanch clashed with each other over inauguration of a locality transformer.
The incident took place when the Power Development Department installed a transformer in village Chack Ram Dass.
Argument between supporters of the MLA Kamal Arora and the Sarpanch of Panchayat Chack Majra, Bharat Bushan Kundal, over who should inaugurate the transformer turned into a clash in which the Sarpanch received injuries.
The Sarpanch said he and some PDD employees were beaten by the supporters of the MLA who won last year's Assembly election on a National Conference ticket.
The Sarpanch claimed that he got the transformer sanctioned from PDD for Chack Ram Dass as the village was reeling under darkness for last many days. He said when he heading towards the village with the transformer, supporters of the MLA attacked him and the PDD employees.
Following the incident, Arina police lodged an FIR. The Sarpanch however alleged that the police has succumbed to the political pressure and did not book the MLA. Those booked under sections 323, 341 RPC have been identified as Bhadur Saini, Surinder Saini and Rajiv Saini. |
