One after another scam rocks BGSBU but no action against VC 9/24/2015 12:30:35 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 23: One after another alleged scams rocked prestigious Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) but no action has been taken against incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof I A Hamal. After expose of every scam, Prof Hamal emerged safe- which is really very astonishing. It is still a mystery who is shielding Prof Hamal? Being head of the institution it is responsibility of the Vice Chancellor to make functioning of the university accountable and transparent manner but he has failed to do so. Ironically when investigation of Rs 20 lakh scholarship scam was going on, another scam rocked the university in the month of June this year. This institution has earned the dubious distinction of being gripped with scams and scandals. This university, which is one of the dream projects of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, always remained in the controversies with one or other reasons. Work on this University was started during the earlier tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and functioning was also started during that tenure. But unfortunately, controversies always marred this University. Since the time Prof Hamal has taken over as Vice Chancellor of this prestigious institution, one after another alleged scam is coming to the fore. It appears that this institution has become hub of corruption and those at the helm of the affairs lack guts to control these scams. Demand is gaining momentum that Special Investigating Team (SIT) be constituted to look into all the scams in this University because academic, research and secular standard of the University is at stake because of the scams. It is really surprising that all this is happening and the Vice Chancellor is sleeping, MLC Vibodh Gupta said, adding "Let me clear this fact that this is not simply a University for we people but this university is a symbol of faith and belief for the people of this region as it came into existence on the name of a holy saint and in no case we shall tolerate that such malpractices happen here".   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
