NABARD holds series of FLAPs in Doda | | | Early Times Report Doda, Sept 23: To commemorate Financial Literacy day, the NABARD on September 8 had embarked upon a noble mission of creating awareness among the rural people and students of Higher Secondary Schools by spreading the message of financial inclusion in every nook and corner of Doda. In this connection, the NABARD held a series of Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes (FLAPs) spreading over a fortnight with the sole objective of targeting the financial excluded areas by involving in this endeavor bankers and the district administration including the Panchayati Raj Institutions. The modus operandi was to take bankers to the door steps of the people in the inaccessible areas and provide banking facilities in their villages itself. On the occasion, DDM NABARD Rajesh Badyal presented a brief of the aim and objectives of the FLAPs. He impressed upon the gathering to develop saving habits in order to lead a tension free life at later phase of their life. LDM, SBI Naseeb Sambyal explained in detail the operational aspects and the documentation part of the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna. Branch heads of various Banks enlightened the gathering including the students about various other loan products of the banks with special emphasis on education loan scheme for the meritorious students who wish to pursue professional courses after 12th Class. |
