Jammu, Oct 14: The first phase of the workshop on "Popularization of Science activities under ST Plan (Project), Govt. of India" for the teachers of mobile schools of J&K started at Govt. Women College, Parade, Jammu.
According to press release, the inaugural function was presided by Prof. Renu Goswami Principal GCW Parade Jammu where as HR Pakhroo Joint Director Training/Principal State Institute of Education was Guest of Honour.
The Workshop is the joint venture of Vigyan Prasar, Deptt. Of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Noida and National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS), Jammu. The main purpose of the programme is to foster scientific temperament among the teachers & main stress on "Learning by Doing" in discharging effective teaching learning process that ultimately will benefits student communities.
The Workshop will continue in two parts first phase w.e.f. 14th to 17th Oct. 2015 and second phase 26th to 29th Oct. 2015 comprising of 50 teachers in each Workshop.
Earlier Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Chairman Organizing Committee in his introductory address added that the program is an extension of already initiated programs by the organization and here in this program leftover teachers of mobile schools across Jammu Division will be oriented.
