Jammu, Oct 14: A Minister, who is unhappy with his district SP, is all set to press for his transfer in the next State Cabinet meet and the posting of his favourite police officer as SSP in his place.
The present SP of his district is an upright officer and is stated to have refused to fall in line with the Minister's "unlawful" desires. "This has caused irritation to the Minister and he wants his immediate replacement with an officer of his choice so that he gets control of the police apparatus in his district," police sources said.
He was prepared to take up the matter in the next Cabinet meet, sources informed.
The leader, who has become a Minister for the second time in the State, has also remained a MP. At present, he was unhappy with the district police officer for not falling in line with him, sources said, adding that the officer had also refused to conclude in his favour the investigation against him in an alleged land grabbing case.
"If he succeeds in bring a police officer of his choice in the district, he will utilise his services to close the land grabbing case against him," sources said.
In case, the police headquarters succumbs to the Minister's pressure and transfers the district SSP, he was likely to be posted as AIG, personnel, the sources added. |
