Avinash Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 14: A Border Security Force (BSF) solider has expressed apprehensions to his life at the hands of his senior officers who allegedly forcibly got him admitted in psychiatric hospital Jammu and even got him administered a heavy dose of medicine, meant for patients suffering mental ailments. BSF Constable Naresh Kumar of 33 Batallion, based in Akhnoor, who is now under treatment in psychiatric hospital Resham Ghar Colony, alleged that under a planned criminal conspiracy, he was attached to the BSF hospital Akhnoor. "Amit Kumar, the doctor in BSF hospital Akhnoor, is a local guy, for whom, I used to bring vegetables, milk, food items, besides other things from my own pocket and even Dr. Amit Kumar used my motorbike", Naresh Kumar said, adding that when the bills of Amit Kumar swelled, he asked him for payment of bills, which infuriated the doctor. Naresh Kumar further says, asked for bills, Dr. Amit Kumar hurled abuses and asked the senior officers to detach him from hospital duty and resend him for border duty."Narrating the ordeal, I wrote a missive to Batallion Commandant, who in turn, forcibly got me admitted in BSF hospital Akhnoor on October 6", he said, adding that on October 7, the BSF hospital authorities referred him to Psychiatric hospital Jammu. Wife of aggrieved BSF solider, Sunita Devi says that she was misbehaved by Dr JR Thapa, Psychiatrist, when she went to meet her husband. "I came from Akhnoor on Monday to meet my husband, approached Dr Thapa, but instead of listening to me, he misbehaved", alleged Sunita, adding that she feared that they would kill her husband. When contacted, Dr JR Thapa said that the Jawan was under observation, likely to be discharg by tomorrow. "First day when he (Naresh Kumar) was admitted in the hospital, with behavior report issued by commandant of the Battalion, we gave him some injections and other medicines" he said, adding that no other dose was given to him following objection of his wife. "She told us, that her husband, was normal and did not need any medication. However, sources in hospital claimed that in their opinion the Psychologist Council has said the BSF Jawan is normal. Passing the buck, DIG Jammu Frontier Paloura, Dharmendra Parekh said that he was out of station. "I'm out of station, I am not aware about it, but usually undisciplined people try to defame BSF", he said. However, refuting Parekh claims that he was out of station and not aware about it, a senior BSF officer, pleading anonymity said that Parekh was in Jammu. |
