All India Devotional Song Competition begins | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: All India Devotional Song Competition as a part of Navratra Festival 2015 started at Yog Ashram Complex in the evening by lighting a traditional lamp by Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj in presence of District information officer, President and Chairman Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra Rakesh Wazir and Shyam Lal Kesar respectively and others. According to statement issued here, in the preliminary round of competition Yasir Hussain from Punjab and Sandeep Singh from Ransoo took equal marks and again they were judged by singing another devotional song and then Yasir Hussain took 1st position and Sandeep Singh 2nd, and 3rd position was shared jointly by Mavish Sharma from Jammu, Varsha Jamwal from Jammu and Suresh Kumar from Udhampur among the 13 auditioned participants in which 3 participants were from outside state & 10 participants were from within state and were provided with the cash prizes of 5000/- , 3000/-and 2,000/- (jointly to all 3rd position holders) respectively. The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Brij Mohan leading Music Composer, Dr. Usha Bhagati Ex.HOD Music many degree colleges including PG MAM College Jammu and Pt. Subash Ghosh from West Bengal Sr. disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Sahab great Saroad Maestro, performing Artist of Govt of India Radio and T.V (Doordarshan), Composer and Music Director, Creator of two new instruments with field of Music. The grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition will be held on 21st of Oct. and winner will be awarded with Rs.2 Lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes ltd. |
