Jammu, Oct 14: All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch warned the State government that if it fails to protect the constitutional rights of reserved categories, lakhs of people belonging to these reserved categories will come of roads and Government will be responsible for any unwanted incident. Addressing media persons, president of Manch Sham Lal Basson alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Government failed to protect the constitutional rights in promotion of SC/ST, DBC, RBA Category employees as the section 6 of Reservation Act 2004 has been struck down. "It is appropriate to mention that the reservation in our state is regulated by the Jammu and Kasrimir Reservation Act 2004 and the Rules modificd thereunder vide SRO-294 of 2005. The striking down of section 6 of Reservation Act 2004 will cause irreparable financial and status loss, "he added. He also said that already there is not adequate representation of reserved category in government services. The reservation could not be implemented in letter and spirit. They appealed to Ministers MLAs/MLCs belonging to reservation category to come forward to protect the constitutional rights of these categories. Meanwhile, Narinder Dutt, General Secretary of Dalit Chetna Manch condemned the incidence of Dankour town in Uttar Pradesh State where member of Scheduled Caste communities including women and children, were forcibly naked and paraded before huge gathering. This is shameful act for whole country, he said. |
