PYC takes out Yuva Akrosh Yatra at Rajouri, Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 14: Marching high on the commitment to fight for the rights of youth of the state, the "Yuva Akrosh Yatra", a mass movement organized by Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), on the third day covered Rajouri and Poonch districts. The Yatra was started from Lakhanpur on October 12, and have covered Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts so far. The Yatra was welcomed in Sunderbani, Nowshera, Kalakote and received at Gujjar Mandi Rajouri by hundreds of enthusiastic Youth Congress activists. The Yatra marched on foot through the town and organized a strong protest demonstration against the callous attitude of the present government in addressing the issues related to the employment and welfare of the youth of the state. Shabir Ahmed Khan former minister also joined the yatra and addressed the gathering in Rajouri and MLA Surankote Choudhary Akram, received and addressed the Yatra in Surankote. Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National Secretary IYC, Pranav Shagotra President J&K PYC, Paramjit Singh General Secretary, Charanjeet singh LYC President addressed the Yatra. The gathering observed two minutes silence to pay tributes to the NYC activist Raj Kumar of Kishtwar, who laid down his life due to participation in the hunger strike for the implementation of previous government's order regarding the permanent jobs to NYCs. Later, the gathering protested amidst sloganeering against the BJP-PDP government for the failure to address the issues of NYCs and Daily wagers in the state. The yatra received a rousing reception at Manjkote, Bimbher Gagli on the way to Poonch. In Surankote the Yatra was received by MLA Choudhary Mohd Akram. Later, the Yatra reached Poonch in the evening. Choudhary Mohd Akram, MLA Surankote along with hundreds of supporters accompanied the yatra to Poonch, where an impressive march was taken out. A large number of people from various walks of life joined the yatra. Speaking to the media and gathering Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National Secretary, IYC lambasted the BJP-PDP government for neglecting the problems of the youth of the state. Addressing the gathering Pranav Shagotra President J PYC criticized the government for not settling the promised issues of thousands of daily wagers including the PHE department and other unemployed youth of the state. He said that this government is anti youth and anti people and BJP has compromised for the sake of power. |
