Kupwara 14 Oct : People are up in arms against non availability of doctors in Kupwara's Community Health Centre.
The people lost patience when no ENT doctor turned up up to 12:30 pm and no ENT doctor turned up in the hospital for treating the patient.
"We are waiting here since 10 am to see a doctor, however, shockingly no one is available till now", a patient who was part of protest said.
Patients alleged that doctors are rarely available in the centre. "And whenever they come, they arew always late, "attendant Mohd Akram from Vilgam said.
The locals said that the patients have to be removed to Srinagar due to non availability of doctors here. "This is not a hospital but a hotel for the doctors and Para-medical staff," they said. The attendants further alleged that the hospital lacks MRI,CT Scan,Digital X-Ray and other equipments as a result surgical patients are forcibly shifted to other hospitals.
When contacted to a senior official of CHC hospital Kupwara he admitted that it is a serious matter and he will personally look into it and added that we have only one ENT doctor, lack of staff in our hospital is the reason |
