Sikhs again hit roads against alleged desecration

Jammu, Nov 1: Exasperated by the alleged desecration of their holy book, Guru Grant Sahib in Punjab at Faridkot's Bargari village , Sikhs continued to hold protests in Jammu chanting Shabad Kirtan and blocking National Highway here today.
The members of Sikh community including females blocked National Highway in front of Digyana Ashram and started protesting by sitting and organising Kirtan in one of the tube of National Highway. The protesters were also lodged their resentment against the posting of some police officers in their area. They were persuaded by SHO Satwari, Gandhi Nagar , SDPO South , and SP South S Salaria following which protestors lifted the blocked.
Pertinently, on October 9, the Sikh activists including students from different colleges also held protest demonstration at Kujwani area, burnt CM Punjab Badal's effigy and marched towards National Highway, causing traffic jam.
