PM's visit set to favour Kashmir, BJP ignores Jammu
Modi's Srinagar Rally
11/2/2015 12:48:44 AM
Ram Madhav can't think beyond Valley where party scored a big zero

Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 1: Ensuing visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to favour Kashmir and BJP, which won 25 seats in Jammu region is only letting it to happen, having scant concern for Jammu and the people who voted the party to power, thanks to a couple of leaders from Centre and RSS who are focusing their energy on Kashmir related issues ahead of the PM's visit. This approach is triggering speculations that Jammu region would get nothing from the package, which PM is likely to announce.
Sources said while state unit of the party with a couple of senior leaders on board have formed so called core group for looking into preparedness of the PM's rallies, the leadership is not asserting with concerned quarters that aspirations and expectations of Jammu people also needed to be taken into consideration when the PM makes any substantial announcements during his visit.
Sources said resentment is growing among the masses as they feel that BJP has allowed to get the PM's visit 'hijacked' to Kashmir, notwithstanding the fact that the prime purpose and itinerary remains inauguration of Baglihar power project which falls in Jammu region.
Party insiders on the basis of feedback from supporters said people of Jammu are up in arms against the BJP central leadership and RSS as both the parties are acting as mute spectators and are allowing the Prime Minister to shift his entire focus on Kashmir, where BJP couldn't open its account in the last assembly elections.
The anger, sources said, is directed more towards Ram Madhav , senior leader who takes a lead role every time any political event or development takes place in the state. They are viewing it with concern that right from formation of the alliance government early this year to crucial issues which erupted during the last 8 months, this leader has always been taking the interests of Kashmir into consideration and is rarely seen vociferous about the issues of Jammu.
Ram Madhav, pertinently, has been camping in Srinagar for the last couple of days to give final shape to the arrangements for PM's visit along with PDP leadership. There are only a couple of BJP ministers this time in the summer capital, sources said.
While Jammu has its own burning issues from refugees to border firing and migration of people, increasing unemployment to rampant corruption, everything unsettled as yet, the grouse is apparent that this leader despite being incharge for the entire state has not paid attention to any nor given any feedback to centre on the status of these issues and what aspirations people have from the PM's visit. This unconcerned, if not indifferent attitude is attributed to lack of complete knowledge of ground realities in Jammu and inability to understand the political nerve of the region, sources said. However, this uncared for attitude is bound to accrue heavy losses politically to the party in future if not corrected, sources added.
