PM's J&K visit: SPG commandos to oversee internal security 11/1/2015 11:54:26 PM Early Tmes Report SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Security has been tightened around S K Stadium Srinagar in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit scheduled on November 7 , Saturday, while a team of SPG commandos including its top-ranking officers are set to arrive in Jammu and Kashmir to take over the venues scheduled to be visited by PM Modi. Reliable sources told that many top police and administrative officials of the state visited and reviewed the security arrangements in and around the SK stadium and other areas to be visited by the PM. "To review the security for PM's visit, the Director General of Police also chaired a meeting which was attended by various wings of forces, and senior officers of District administration and police. The officers briefed the DGP about the various steps taken by them to secure the visit of Prime Minister," sources said. Sources said that the District Police Srinagar also presented a detailed layout of security grid around the areas as well as around the venue through power point presentation. Meanwhile sources informed that the SPG commandos, delegated with the security of the Prime Minister, will arrive here, to oversee the PM's visit. "SPG commandos will start arriving both in Jammu and Srinagar in next two to three days, to take control of the security of places to be visited by Modi during his day-long visit to the state on November 7," sources added. Official sources said that a number of other measures are being taken for this high profile visit. "Police check-posts and bunkers have been set up at all entry and exit points of Srinagar and besides more CCTV cameras have been installed at main roads. One of the officials of the State Motor Garages said that government in its communication has asked to arrange around 80 vehicles for this high profile visit.
