Jammu, Nov 1: A major tragedy was averted when police today arrested a notorious criminal along with a weapon in this winter capital of the state.
''Based on a tip-off, police this morning, arrested one Ashish Sharma alias Dana, resident of Janipura Colony along with a sharp-edged weapon from Shiekh Nagar in Bahu Fort area,'' police sources here today said.
They said the accused was on way to commit an offence and attack one of his rivals.
''The accused was a history-sheeter and was already wanted in many cases," police said and added that a case has been registered under relevant sections and investigations started. |
