Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 1: Massive rally of SC, ST, OBC and other others reserved categories under the ages of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations (J&K Unit) banner was taken out against State Government for failing to defend their constitutional rights in government services.
The rally was started from Model School Satwari, Jammu and thousands of people from various social, religious organizations and political leaders across the party line were participated. They demanded in one voice from the Govt that their constitutional rights and privileges being debarred by the pronouncements of judicial judgments of High Court J&K be restored forthwith initiating the necessary remedial action.
Addressing gathering, Dr. Udit Raj (MP) and National Chairman, Confederation participated and fully endorsed the Agenda of the Confederation of J&K Unit working under the leadership of RK Kalsotra, State President. Highlighting the denial of constitutional rights and privileges granted under the Reservation Act 2004 to the reserved categories by the High Court. Dr. Udit Raj pleaded that by not protecting their own legislation and reservation laws the Govt. has utterly failed in safeguarding the constitutional concessions provided to the reserved categories. He said that only in India a third house has been functioning and making laws which are the functions of the Parliaments and Assemblies representing the mandate of the people.
While addressing the convention RK Kalsotra cautioned to the Govt. that the people are not concerned with Article 370 or other things, but are concerned with their constitutional rights and protections which were gained after the great struggle of Dr. Baba Sahib B.R. Ambedkar at National Level and Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath in this state in 1970 for SC and others category in 1991.
