Shiksha Niketan School celebrates 23rd annual day

Jammu, Nov 1 : Shiksha Niketan Senior Seconary School Jammu celebrated 23rd annual day on the theme 'Ambitions and Expectations' held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Jammu with gaiety and fevour.
Minister for Transport AG Kohli, MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina, Dr Jitender Udhampuri, ID Soni, JL Kotwal, Harinder Gupta hooured the function. The function commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the dignitaries and principal of the school.
On the occasion guests appreciated the efforts of the students and the school management in bringing this institute to the present level of brilliance. In his welcome address, Principal of the school Rameshwar Mengi gave a brief description about the students who excelled in different fields. He applauded the staff members who strived hard for shaping the bright future of the students.
The toddlers of Pre-Primary wing performed a dance on an english song (everything is so beautiful) and the Primary wing students sang the song. A Qawali was presented by the students of Middle wing and a Ballet was enacted by the students of Higher Secondary wing. All these performances were simply scintillating and highly appreciated by the large distinguished gathering of the dignitaries and the parents who were present there.
A total of Rs.2, 94, OOO was awarded in forms of cheques to the meritorious students who outshined in academics. Rs.15000 in the form of a cheque was awarded to the third position holder of the 12th class, 43 cheques of Rs. 5OOO each were given to the position holders of 10th and 12th class, 11 cheques of Rs.2000, each were given to the 8th class position holders and 27 cheques of Rs.l000 each were given to the students who got merit in 1 to 7th classes of the school. Three cheques worth Rs. 5OOO each were also given to the meritorious students who got admission from other schools in the school after their result was got revaluated. The school gave scholarships to the tune of Rs.16, 52, 500 to the position and distinction holders of the year 2015-16. An amount of Rs.15, 75, OOO was given as scholarship to the deserving students of the school during the session 2014-15.
