UDC alleges government her failing to check road accidents | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Nov 1: Udhampur Development Council (UDC) organized a press conference here today on the subject ‘’Zero Accident Zero Fatalities’’ under the chairmanship of its president Anil Paba. As per press release, Anil Paba said in February 2015 Governor NN Vohra had called high level meeting regarding the topic in which all government officers including district magistrates, police officers, Divisional Commissioner besides others participated and Governor has shown anguish over the frequent road accidents in state and has directed all officers to adopt mechanism to fix the date to check road accidents so that precious lives are saved. He further said in September 2012 Jammu and Kashmir state road safety council was created but for further three years no meeting was organized by the council and on the direction of governor meeting was started at district level that to in papers only with no practical work on roads. Paba said time has come that we should not ignore the subject with which precious human lives are associated. Parvesh Parihar general secretary UDC has demanded ex gratia relief for two real brothers who were crushed by high speed passenger bus in heart of town some days ago. He further said only ex gratia relief is not sufficient, to save the precious lives by applying the mechanism will be the real tribute to killed brothers.
