UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: Alleging non-implementation of “Laadli Beti Yojana” in Udhampur district, Jan Sangharsh, an NGO, held a protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister here today at Salathia Chowk. The protest was staged under the leadership of president Jan Sangharsh Sanjeet Bavouria. Addressing the protesters, Bavouria said that the state government is not implementing the “Laadli Beti” scheme in Udhampur district which is nothing but gross discrimination with the girls of Udhampur. He further said that it is quite strange that when this scheme was already introduced in six districts of the state including Samba, Kathua, Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag and Budgam then why Udhampur district was left out.
