OBCs appeal PM to implement Mandal Commission report | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 6:Welcoming the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi who is visiting Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow, the State OBCs today appealed to him to redress their long pending issues and also urged him to implement Mandal Commission report as assured by him. In a meeting Prof Kali Dass said, "State OBCs tried their level best to uproot the treacherous NC-Congress regime which are main players in the state to loot the due share of 27% reservation vide Apex Court's Judgment of 1992 on Mandal Report inspite of the "Magic Solution" available within the judgment." He regretted that BJP-PDP regime's right now have proved ineffective for the State OBCs as it failed to have any deliberations over the redressal of the long pending demands of the State OBCs. Speakers also alleged that Social Welfare Department inspite of the lapse of eight months of the Governance; has not enhanced the creamy layer from Rs 4.5 lakhs to 6.0 lakhs, failed to issue general circular to the OSC Certificate issuing authorities (Mostly Tehsildars) to renew the OSC Certificates on the basis of income certificate as caste of a person does not change and demand of one certificate on the name of OBC instead of OSC yet has not been fulfilled. Speakers also appealed Prime Minister to fulfill his promise for the implementation of Mandal report and direct the Social Welfare Minister to set all the reservation components at right at the earliest. Besides, the president of the union other Abdul Majid Malik, others who spoke in this meeting included S Rajinder Singh, Ramesh Tak, Brij Mehra, Master Sain Dass, Puran Chargotra, Raj Kumar, T R Chagotra, Munshi Ram Basotra (Rtd ZEO), Som Nath, Vishal Salgotra, Romesh Udhampur, Arfan Poonchi and others. |
