Will BJP leadership apply same parameter of action as his predecessor …? Political Advisor Bhagat's name once again in controversy 11/7/2015 12:23:56 AM Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 6: BJP's RS Pura MLA is in news once again for all the wrong reasons and surrounded by controversial allegations. As the MLA Gagan Bhagat is holding one more position and post of Political Advisor to State president of the party, these controversies have lately affected the image of both State president's persona as well that of the national party. Will party apply same parameters of action against him as has been done with his predecessor Prof Hari Om ….? Bhagat was given this political portfolio as replacement to Prof Hari Om when he was removed from the post nearly two and a half months back. However, his appointment as Political Advisor of the State president not only surprised many but also was not received well at any level in the rank and file of the party for some reasons, with many asking the question as to why senior leaders were surpassed and sidelined and what was the compulsion with State president to choose him alone. Sources said these questions were relevant against the reality that Gagan Bhagat is the first time MLA and far more junior to many others in the organisation. This argument at some levels within the party got a further push when his name remained involved with controversies almost in series from day one of his assumption of the office, sources said. Moreover, in terms of seniority and other experience Bhagat was no choice in comparison to Prof Hari Om who is considered to be veteran in political circles and known more as an intellectual and a think tank in the State as far as political acumen and calibre is concerned, sources said as being the undercurrent within the party. Sources said over two months on, Bhagat has not issued any statement on behalf of the State president on any key political issue nor defended any party line over certain issues that erupted lately. On the contrary, his predecessor would strongly defend the State president until he remained on the post and defended the party line besides projecting and highlighting the programmes and policies of the party as ruling ally, something which reflected that Bhagat is a political novice . The questions that are being asked in murmurs is that what is the compulsion of the State president to continue with him as Political Advisor, sources said, adding that fresh development today has reinforced this murmur whether same parameter of action would be applied to him as well.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
