Modi baiters greet Nitish Kumar on Bihar poll win | | | Known Modi baiters have openly congratulated the grand alliance, led by the JD(U), for victory in the Bihar Assembly election. And former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, wasted not a minute on sending his good wishes to Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar.Well since the time the PDP has forged an alliance with the BJP Omar Abdullah is in the forefront of those political leaders who keep on finding one fault or the other with the BJP led NDA Government. If Omar continues to berate the PDP-BJP ruling alliance he has a reason for that as he lost power after a gap of six years. He does not understand that if he lost power it was not because of the machinations of Mufti Mohd. Sayeed but on account of peoples' support for the PDP in the Kashmir valley and for the BJP in the Jammu region. And to rationalize his frustration over losing power Omar Abdullah has greeted Nitish Kumar. He has,in his message, hours before the final results were declared, said heartiest congratulations on a well deserved victory Nitish Kumar sahib. Your victory will prove critical for the nation in the days ahead: Another Modi baiter, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has sent his greetings to Nitish Kumar for the "historic victory." Mamta Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, has congratulated NitishKumar ji, Lalu ji & your full team. And all my Bihar brothers & sisters. Victory of tolerance, defeat of intolerance -The controversial congressman, Sanjay Raut has rightly said that when when Congress loses it is Sonia ji's responsibility, similarly BJP must accept that BiharResults is Modi ji's responsibility. This is a big win for Nitish Kumar. He has emerged as a political hero-Chief of the JD(U) Sharad Yadav has congratulated people of Bihar for supporting the grand alliance candidates. However, BJP leader, Prakash Javedkar, maintained that the fight remained close and was hopeful that the BJP could still turn it around in the later phases of counting. Congress vicepresident,Rahul Gandhi, said that people will throw out Modi after Bihar poll defeat. Well the Bihar Assembly results have indicated that the exit polls were more accurate than the claims and expectations from the contesting parties and candidates. Even Lalu Prasad had stated, a day before the counting, that the poll results will falsify the claims being made in some pre-poll analysis. The BJP had placed all its eggs in the basket of Bihar Assembly poll on two reasons. First its victory could have proved Modi's invincibility. Secondly, Nitish Kumar, who had run the Bihar Government for about four years in alliance with the BJP, had ditched the sangh parivaar and the BJP wanted to teach him a lesson. It was believed that by joining hands with Laluji and the Congress Nitish Kumar would be rejected by voters because of the image of Lalu Prasad and on account of the dwindling influence of the Congress. However, the caste factor played its role and people felt that since Nitish kumar has given a good Government he should be given another chance for shaping the destiny of people of Bihar. Hence the grand alliance won 179 seats followed by 58 by BJP and its allies. The only satisfaction for the BJP is major share of votes that were polled. While the BJP gor 24.4 per cent vote share, the Congress got 6.7 per cent,JD(U) 16.8 per cent and RJD 18.4 percent. Growing intolerance, Ghar Vaapsi, price rise, failure of the BJP led NDA Government in halting inflation and level of corruption, its failure to bring back black money and Modi's failure in bridling those senior BJP leaders, including some BJP MPs, who triggered trouble and controversies through their statements, growing rift between the Shiv Sena and the BJP have all contributed to voters anger against the BJP. The Bihar Assembly results also indicates that the BJP and its allies failed to receive support from Dalits, voters belonging to, backward classes, and the muslims. Yes, Bihar Assembly poll results may infuse fresh life in the Congress party because of its good performance in Bihar poll. The poll results may also has deflated the BJP balloon in general and that of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in particular. It is time the BJP leadership goes in for self-introspection and find out what led to its defeat and what measures were needed to perform well in some other states, especially Uttar Pradesh, where the Assembly elections are to be held within next two years. In fact it would be better for Prime Minister Modi to avoid leaving all the party affairs in the hands of BJP Chief, Amit Shah. Let Modi assert himself and control those party leaders who indulge in loose and irresponsible talk and issue controversial statements. |
