Who sabotaged Sajad Lone's speech? | PM's Srinagar Rally | | Early Times Report srinagar, Nov 9: The separatist turned mainstream politician Sajad Gani Lone being sidelined during the recent rally of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Srinagar has left Lone fuming as he believes that his speech was sabotaged at the behest of the leaders from the saffron party, sources told Early Times on Monday. They said that Sajad Lone had received a letter from the Prime Minister's Office prior to PM's rally at Srinagar stating that he would address the gathering ahead of PM's speech. Insiders revealed that state leaders of BJP took a strong exception about Sajad's speech being fixed and they hatched a "conspiracy" to ensure that Sajad is unable to address the gathering. Sajad Lone, who shared the stage with the Prime Minister and other leaders waited for his turn but was left "shell shocked" as his name, was not called. "Sajad had ferried thousands of his supporters from various areas in north Kashmir to the rally venue and they were eagerly waiting for him to address the rally," insiders revealed. Soon after the Prime Minister winded up his Srinagar visit, Sajad, according to the sources, lodged a strong protest with the central BJP leadership for his name being omitted and him being denied an opportunity to address the masses at an important occasion. The central BJP leaders, sources said, told Sajad that his name had been finalized in Delhi itself. "We don't know what went wrong," sources quoted a few top leaders as having told Sajad. Sources said many BJP leaders had requested the party high command that they should be allowed to deliver a speech in presence of the Prime Minister but their requests were turned down. " The senior BJP leader Ram Madhav during his visit to Kashmir prior to Prime Minister's rally had requested Sajad to mobilize his workers and had promised him that he would deliver a speech in presence of the Prime Minister," insiders claimed. They said Sajad has taken up the matter with Ram Madhav and has expressed displeasure over him being at the last moment. "Madhav has assured Sajad that matter would be looked into and the people responsible for sabotaging his speech would be taken care of." A senior BJP leader, sources said, has told Sajad not to drag the issue as he would get many other opportunities to share the stage with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, whom Sajad had described as his elder brother after his first meeting with him in New Delhi last year. |
