EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 9: An Exhibition match in football was organized recently by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (Jammu Wing between the girls teams of Jammu and Ladakh provinces. Six girls from KC Public School Akula Raina, Bavleen Kaur, Pritankshi, Samiksha, Shruti and Rehana, participated in the match representing Jammu province. The match turned out to be quite exciting as both teams exhibited a fairly high level of skills in the game which is considered to be an exclusive male domain. The brisk movements on the ground belied the wrong notion that women cannot play football as skillfully as men do. Eventually, Jammu province team emerged winners with a narrow margin. A K Mishra, Principal of the School, congratulated the girls and their coach Moon Stephen in a special morning assembly and urged other girl students of the school to play football and cricket without any reservations. |
