SABDK discusses various issues | | | early times report Jammu, Nov 9: Daljit Singh Chib, Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir State Advisory Board for Development of Kissans (SABDK) along-with Secretary, Kissan Board, and some prominent discussed various issues pertaining to the farming community including the procurement of Paddy by the Food Corporation of India. The General Manager, FCI when contacted on phone apprised the meeting that the procurement process in Jammu province is going on smoothly. It was decided to visit some more procurement centres in Kathua and Samba districts within a couple of days after taking in view the progress made by the FCI in procuring the Paddy in Jammu district during the current procurement season. It was also decided to hold Kisan Melas in different districts of Jammu Province during the current year by involving the Scientists from SKUAST and other Agriculture and allied departments so that the common farmers are apprised to utilize the new and innovative Agricultural technology enabling them to generate more and more income from their agriculture production and their income gets boosted. The members of the Board also welcomed the special package of Rs. 80,000 crores given to the State by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India which includes Rs.529.00 crores meant for Agriculture and Food processing. The meeting was presided over by the VC of the Board. Later, on the Vice Chairman visited all the sections of the Board Office and enquired about the welfare of the employees and took stock of the arrangements made for their stay in Jammu during the winter months. |
