Association with PDP also resulted in BJP's defeat in Bihar: Hari Om | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 9: Expressing unhappiness over the "massive" defeat of the BJP in the crucial Bihar Assembly elections, former political advisor to J&K BJP president Prof Hari Om on Monday again appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah to snap ties with the PDP without losing a moment. "The association of the BJP with the pro-self-rule PDP has harmed the party not only in the sensitive State of J&K but also hurt it at the national level," he said, adding that one of the factors that led to the defeat of the party in Bihar was its association with the PDP. "The Grand Alliance leadership and its spokespersons exploited the developing situation in Kashmir to the hilt. They made it part of their election campaign and repeatedly charged the BJP with entering into an alliance with what they again and again termed as pro-Pakistan and pro-separatist PDP," Prof Hari Om said, and added that it was time for the BJP to end all ties with the PDP and for the J&K BJP to play the role of an effective and responsible opposition in the state so that the party was able to win back the trust of Indian electorate and conciliate the estranged people of Jammu province. "Ending ties with the PDP will go a long way in helping the BJP regain its lost position in Jammu province and silence the parties like the Congress, the RJD and the JD(U), which invariably contested the BJP's nationalist credentials by questioning its alliance with the PDP during debates in TV studios," Prof Hari Om further said. He yet again reiterated his stand that ending ties with the PDP, which day in and day out pitches for Pakistan and describes J&K a disputed territory, is the "need of the nation and exigency of the time", adding that the situation in the Valley has turned so grave that anti-national elements have been raising Pakistani and IS flags every Friday and organizing anti-India events. The PDP-led coalition government has turned out to be a love threat to the unity and integrity of India, he said. Prof Hari Om expressed hope that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah will direct the J&K BJP to come out of the PDP-led government forthwith in the larger national interest and also in the interest of Jammu province. |
