BSP alleges loopholes in Pawan murder case investigation | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 9: Alleging that the role of police in the ongoing investigation of Pawan Kumar murder case was dubious, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) along with the family members of the deceased staged a protest demonstration here today. Shouting slogans against the Lakhanpur police, the protesters led by BSP leader Som Raj Majotra alleged that the police under the influence of money is deliberately avoiding the arrest of those involved in killing Pawan Kumar of village Ratyal. Demanding arrest of the culprits who committed the murder of Pawan, the BSP leader Majotra and family members of Pawan Kumar said that so far police have failed to nab the real culprits. The BSP leader and Pawan’s family while unfolding the events of the day when Pawan Kumar was allegedly murdered said it was evening when Pawan was called by a neighbour whose name is Nasib Singh. They further said that till late night Pawan did not return home on which the family got worried and went out for search. While the family was trying to locate Pawan, it was informed by someone that he had died due to excessive consumption of liquor and his dead body was lying in Civil Hospital Pathankot. The protesting family members and BSP leader also lambasted the irresponsible behavior of Superintendent of District Hospital Kathua who denied conducting the postmortem of Pawan’s body, however, the same was conducted when public pressure was mounted on hospital authorities. The protestors demanded a fair investigation of the murder case and put the culprits including supporters behind the bars. Later, a deputation was also called on SSP Kathua led by BSP leader Majotra and demanded justice to the aggrieved family by punishing those involved in killing Pawan.
