KISHTWAR, Nov 9: To celebrate the National Legal Services Day, a Lok Adalat was held today by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar under the Chairmanship of M.S Parihar , Principal District and
Sessions Judge Kishtwar at District Court Complex Kishtwar, for settlement of MACT cases, Civil and Traffic challans referred by the concerned courts.
A bench consisting of Balbir Lal Jaswal, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar and M.H Waza Advocate conducted the Lok Adalat. A total of 134 cases were referred to Lok Adalat, out of which 100 cases were amicably settled and compensation of Rs 1,90,000 was awarded to the claimant and fine of Rs. 7000 was realized on the spot. Legal Aid counsel fee was provided to the counsels in the cases Bajaj General Insurance company through I J Charak Advocate , handed over 8 cheques of Rs 60,75,000 to the Chairman District Legal Services Authority, as compensation in MACT cases.
