PM's package offers nothing for sub regions: Kichloo | | | Early Times Report kishtwar, Nov 9: Former Minister of State for Home in Omar Abdullah Government and National Conference MLC from Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today said that the Rs. 80000 Crore package announced by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Saturday "offers nothing for the people of the state". While addressing party youth leaders at Kishtwar, Kichloo said the aim of the package was to divert the attention and focus from the main issues promised by both the parties presently in ruling alliance during elections. He further said that the PM package did not fulfil the sub regional aspirations and expressed his displeasure over the way union government "denied the Rs. 44000 Cr package for flood affected as well as to the earthquake victims of Chenab valley". Kichloo said that economy as well as the job policy of the state is totally banking on the construction of power projects in Chenab valley having potential of over 15000 MW power generation. He expressed displeasure over "the way PM ignored the region and fail to sanction an amount for the construction of power projects which will not only provide electricity and revenue to the state, but will also create job opportunity for over 20000 unemployed youths" |
