Early Times Report Kathua, Dec 3 : In an effort to create awareness regarding AIDS, among the students, a poster making competition and a talk on various aspects of AIDS was held by science club in collaboration with NSS unit of the college. The function was presided over by Principal of the college, Dr. Satinder Singh. The Programme started with a poster making competition under supervision of NSS Programme Officer, Madhvi Parasher in which 12 NSS volunteers participated and were adjudged by Prof. Umesh Chander Khaillo and Prof. Rakesh Singh. The talk started with traditional lamp lightening by worthy Principal of the college and other senior faculty members. Prof. Umesh Chander Kailoo, Convenor Science Club, discussed at length the causes, symptoms, preventions of the AIDS alongwith social stigma associated with the disease. About 8 students of B.Sc Part Third deliberated on the topic with confidence and relevance in details. Reshm of B.Sc Sem III, Bandana of B.Sc. Sem III and Taniya of B.Sc. Sem III were declared first, second and third respectively. Principal of the college, Dr. Satinder Singh in his address stressed upon the students to get aware of the disease as prevention is better than cure and exhorted upon then to spread this message to masses in general. |
