Nationalist BJP ready to talk to pro-Pak Hurriyat! | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 3: There is no fundamental difference between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress as far as their approach towards J&K is concerned. Their approach is the same, as they are chips of the same block. Both are pseudo-secular and both believe in appeasement policy. Both treat Kashmiri separatists with kid gloves and both give the Hurriyat the same amount of importance, as if separatists represent the general people. In fact, the BJP is more dubious in its approach towards J&K and fanatic and pro-Pakistan the otherwise divided Hurriyat leaders, who have their own money-minting shops set up in different parts of Srinagar city. Though the Congress also subscribe to the same ideology, it sometimes talks about Jammu people. But as far as the BJP is concerned, it has completely abandoned not only Jammu people but also all others who stand for India and struggle for empowerment and oppose Kashmiri hegemony and domination over the State polity and financial institutions. The BJP, for example, used to oppose Article 370 and Article 35-A when it was out of power. After coming into power in J&K, it shamelessly and in a most brazen manner became staunch supporter of these two anti-India, anti-democratic and anti-democratic Articles. On Thursday, it and its alliance partner defended Article 35-A in the Supreme Court of India and the RSS kept its mouth shut, despite the fact that its own NGO "We the Citizens" wants the Supreme Court to declare Article 35-A null and void and unconstitutional. It has also adopted the same attitude towards Article 370 and agreed to go beyond this Article to appease believers in the concept of Kashmiri Muslim sub-nationalism. And on Tuesday, the BJP, like the Congress, accorded respectability to the Kashmiri separatists by telling the Lok Sabha that the Government of India was prepared to talk to Hurriyat leaders. Minister of State for Home, Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary, said this in the Lok Sabha in reply to a question whether the Government has initiated any talks with separatist organizations in J&K with a view to restore peace in the State. "The Government remains open to dialogue with those who eschew the path of violence and are willing to work within the framework of the Constitution of India," he said. Hitherto the Modi Government had taken a stand that it had no proposal to hold dialogue with separatists and has been dealing with them sternly on ground. When in power, the Congress also used to take similar stand on Kashmiri separatists. So, where is the difference between the BJP and the Congress? There is no difference. The Congress and the BJP are the parties which have little or no regard for the sentiments of the nationalists in the State. That's the reason they rejected the Congress in 2014 and there are cogent reasons to believe that they will reject the BJP as well as and when they get an opportunity. The people of Jammu and all other nationalists have to fend for themselves and that's their fate. |
