AJKAOWF meets Minister for Agriculture 12/3/2015 10:40:44 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 3: A delegation of All Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF) led by its President Vijay Upadhaya met the Minister for Agriculture Jenab Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Jammu today. The delegation apprised of overall demoralization in the cadres of Agriculture due to long stagnation, non-settlement of upto-date Seniority and non-Conductance of DPC since last three decades. The Forum has applauded the efforts of the Minister in making a good beginning to address the waxed issue of DPC/Settlement of Seniority which has hindered the overall progress of this very vital department in terms of Human Resource Management in general and farming community in particular. AJKAOWF appealed to the Minister to settle the seniority of 1063 odd Gazetted Agriculture officers to the last Cadre till date once for all. Till settlement of seniority/ DPC temporary charge of higher vacant positions may be assigned to the most senior eligible officers as an interim relief to them as presently, the department is understaffed with 40% of its cadre strength only and vacant positions are affecting the overall working at all levels. Instead of multiple charges to chosen few, "One Man One Post" principle on the pattern of Kashmir valley should be adopted to inculcate interest and enthusiasm in maximum number of deserving officers in the queue. Minister Agriculture gave a very patient hearing and sympathized with genuine problems of Cadre.
