Jammu, Dec 3: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) of Jammu and Kashmir has registered 83 cases of corruption this year and produced charge-sheet in 22 of them. "SVO has registered 83 FIRs of corruption against various officers and employees of different departments this year till date," a senior SVO officer said. The organisation, headed by Inspector General Vigilance, Alok Puri, has speeded up the process of the disposal of the cases of corruption and ensure convictions in eight of them, he said. "In its drive to speed up disposal of cases, the SVO has also produced charge-sheets (Challan) of 22 cases in various Anti-Corruption Courts of the state for the year 2015," he said. SVO has been successful in obtaining eight conviction in the current year and more important cases are likely to be decided in the near future, the officer said. |
