NAHSS organizes awareness program

Kathua, Dec 3: In order to make students aware of the traffic rules and road safety, an awareness program was organised in the premises of Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School Kathua in collaboration with Regional Transport Office, Kathua. In this session RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh was the chief guest while S.P Traffic Police Ravi Kant Sharma presided over the event.
In the first session, a demonstration was carried out by the students in which they depicted the do's and don'ts while riding on two wheelers. They gave a real time demonstration of the purpose of Zebra crossing, traffic signals and helmet. Second session of the event comprised of a Symposium competition based on the theme " Make Road Safety a Habit-Not a Slogan". Eight students from the Secondary and Sr. Secondary classes participated in the competition. Kalpana Rajput secured first position whereas Durga and Suraksha bagged second and third position respectively. A poem on road safety was also presented by Shivalika Verma of 7th standard. In his address S.P traffic police Ravi Kant Sharma appreciated the students for their enthusiasm and interest with which they participated and expressed their thoughts. He advised the teen agers to follow traffic rules. RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh while addressing the students appreciated the efforts of school management for organizing such awareness session. He termed it as the most vital issue which is required to be introduced in the student's curriculum. He also said that students are the best source of spreading awareness regarding the road safety among the society. They themselves should also follow the road safety instructions and should aware the society as well. At the end , Director, Nav Adarsh Gandharb Singh Katal presented vote of thanks. Senior faculty members Dalbeer Singh , Romesh Chander and Rakesh Pathania adjudged the competition.
