Congress activists hold meet | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 3: The meeting was organized by Hiranagar Block Congress activists wherein District Congress Committee President Subash Gupta presided and a large number of Panchs/Sarpanchs, and other activists' participated. Showing strong resentment for governments' failure in restoring water, power and ration supply in different parts of the district, various representatives said that the government has totally failed in providing basic amenities to people. These representatives were from Congress party from the various villages of Tehsil Hiranagar who projected their grievances in the monthly meeting. The representatives discussed the replacement of portable X-ray machine provided at Sub-District Hospital to replace with X-Ray machine of 300 MA as the old portable machine of 60 MA is not working properly. They also raised the issues of ration supply, construction of Medical College and absence of transportation facility connecting Tehsil Headquarters. Castigating PWD department for its failure to initiate the infrastructural development, Gupta said that Former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had announced of expanding 30 bedded hospital to 100 bedded and as part of this, he released Rupees 80 Lakhs, which are lying with the department since last two-years unutilized. Subash Gupta also criticized state government for its failure of providing ration to public adding that previous government use to provide extra sugar during the festivals. Not only this, the government had not provided sugar since three months rather it has decreased the ration quota from 35 Kg to 25 Kg. Subash Gupta after discussing the demands/problems with the representatives assured them that he would project their demands before the concerned authorities for their early redressal. |
