| People hold protest against PHE | | |  Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 5: The people of village Matta, situated on the outskirts of Kishtwar town and people of its adjoining areas including women's today held a strong protest against PHE Department Kishtwar and block the National Highway near Dak Bangalow Kishtwar for hours together demanding shifting of Junior Engineer for his failure.
As per the details available with "Early Times" large number of people assembled at ever busy Dak Bangalow chowk and chocked the traffic of entire Kishtwar town demanded immediate shifting of Junior Engineer Shiv Kumar, beside raised slogans against Executive Engineer PHE Division Kishtwar added that since the new JE assume the charge of the area few months ago, the Matta residents having population of over 3000 souls are facing water crises.
SHO Kishtwar Mohammad Afzal Wani and in charge Police Post Kuleed Gurpal Singh immediate rush to the spot to pacified the agitating people who called off the protest only after the assurance from MLC Firdous Tak who also issued necessary directions to concern officials telephonically with regard to anger of the common people against them. Tak also warn action against the officers who fail to deliver on public front.
While talking to "Early Times" protestor Ravi Kumar said that the village used to get water supply once or twice in a month these days since the JE Shiv Kumar took over the charge and said that earlier the villagers were getting regular water supply on alternative days. He said that despite repeated request to concern officers, nothing was done forcing the villagers to block the road to press for their demands. |
