Jammu, Dec 5: Putting the integrity and credibility of Khakhi under scanner a Probationer Sub Inspector, who is in news for his wrong doing and became the subject of whispering in the police circle for allegedly striking a deal of Rs 13 lakh with the property dealer for allowing illegal construction on the state land during his tenure as In-chage Police Post on city outskirts, is reportedly being posted as Incharge Police Post Manwal. The proposal of his posting was mooted when the state's intelligence agency raised an alarm for his involvement in land grabbing and brought the matter to the senior police officers. Highly placed sources said that while the police was investigating the matter, the involvement of another ASI was surfaced who is alleged to be instrumental for making deal between property dealers and the PSI. If the sources are to be believed, the said PSI by resorting illegal practice has reportedly raised four plots valuing crores of rupees on city outskirts from the property dealers living at Chhani Himmat, Bari Brahmna and Chowadi area. Pertinently, the matter of PSI's involvement in land grabbing came to the notice of senior police officers when he struck a deal of Rs 13 lakh with a property dealer for allowing construction of nullah on state land. The property dealer, sources alleged, approached then in-charge police post and tried to influence him to allow construction of lane on the state land so that value of his land would increase. "For this whole deal, in-charge police post demanded Rs 13 lakh from the property dealer", sources alleged and added that the property dealer paid Rs 3 lakh in advance to PSI and it was promised by the dealer to pay the rest of money after the completion of work. In the meantime, the PSI was transferred after a senior cop smelled rat but, using his connections, he managed the posting of his close friend, also PSI, as incharge of the police post so that the property dealer faced no problem in raising construction on the state land, sources alleged. When the matter came to the notice of senior police officers, they transferred a constable, allegedly was instrumental for fixing the deal, to other district. |
