Jammu, Dec 5: Laid-back approach of Jammu University Vice-Chancellor is irking Chief Minister's high profile Advisor, Prof Amitabh Mattoo while some officers in the JU administration are allegedly acting as more loyal than the king.
Ever since the appointment of Prof Mattoo as Advisor to CM with a Cabinet rank, JU Vice-Chancellor has been creating an impression of dislike for him notwithstanding the former's best possible efforts to help Jammu University touching new heights.
The latest episode in this regard relates to deputation of Vinay Thussoo, PRO in JU, whose services have now been taken in the Personal Section of Prof Amitabh Mattoo.
According to the sources, Jammu University kept delaying the issuance of order for deputation of Vinay Thussoo without any reason. And moreover, when the order was issued after 46 days, the deputation was approved only for three months, sources added.
While elaborating, sources said that the request for approval of the deputation was sent to Jammu University on October 12 but the concerned officers kept sitting on the application and issued the order on November 27, that too after reminders from the office of Prof Amitabh Mattoo.
It may be mentioned here that ever since the appointment of Prof Mattoo as Advisor to CM, Vinay Thussoo was unofficially working with him as PRO in his personal section. This was also objected by the Secretariat of Vice-Chancellor after complains of the same by some officers.
Some top officers in the Jammu University, who were once blue eyed boys of Prof Mattoo during his tenure as then Vice-Chancellor of JU but had later on backstabbed him, are allegedly spearheading this campaign while lackadaisical attitude of Prof R D Sharma is helping such elements. |
