Early Times Report Kathua, Dec 5: Following J&K High Court directions to vacate illegally encroached land in entire J&K state, The Revenue Department Kathua today continuing its drive against encroachers retrieved huge spread of 300 Kanals land at Bhagthali Kathua which was under encroachment since long. According to an official from concerned department, a team of enforcement wing of Revenue Department, escorted with Police and representatives of local Panchayat today visited the spot to vacate land following which the encroachers have not responded to the repeated notices served to clear the encroachments. Confirming the retrieval of huge spread of state land in Kathua, Avtar Singh Tehsildar Kathua said that the department took action after several notices were served to encroachers who have failed to respond. He said the land was grabbed by number of encroachers since long and after proper scrutiny of revenue documents and verifications of the revenue records, the department today cleared the encroachments and retrieved 300 kanals of state land. He also informed that the anti-encroachment drive will be continued in future also and cautioned encroachers to vacate state land wherever they had encroached state land in tehsil Kathua. |
