Security agencies asked to intensify vigil against LeT cadre sent to carry out terror strike
12/5/2015 11:31:32 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 5: The Union Home Ministry has cautioned the security and intelligence agencies in Jammu and Kashmir to intensify their vigil so that two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operatives who have gone into hiding for launching a terror strike in the union capital, don't get opportunity to carve out any hiding place in the troubled state.
Highly placed sources said, in this connection the security forces have upgraded their security grid within the Jammu and Kashmir for the purpose of trapping the two LeT operatives in case they had crossed into Kashmir from the union capital.
"Since these two LeT operatives have infiltrated from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir they could establish their hiding places after they may have come to know that the Delhi police have launched a hunt against them, sources added.
They said, "Intelligence and security agencies operating in Jammu and Kashmir have been told to keep a strict watch lest these two LeT operatives should select some VIPs and some soft targets in Jammu and Kashmir for carrying out their terror strike plan."
Meanwhile agencies’ report said that the Delhi Police too have launched search operations for two suspected LeT operatives who have allegedly hatched a conspiracy to carry out "suicide attacks" in the national capital targeting "high profile personalities".
"The conspiracy was unearthed when the Special Cell of the Delhi Police received an intelligence input about two suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives, identified as Dujana and Ukasha, who allegedly infiltrated in Jammu and Kashmir through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following which an FIR was registered," said a police source, adding, "the aforesaid FIR u/s 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act though doesn't name any suspects but stands registered on December 1, at Special Cell Office in Lodhi Colony. "It was submitted at the concerned anti-terror court," said the sources.
Sources quoting the complaint, said, "LeT is conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks in Delhi and other places in the country, for which alleged handlers have infiltrated operatives in India through Jammu and Kashmir and through international border running through other states."
They said, "Two of them, identified as Dujana and Ukasha have been reported to be based in the Kashmir Valley for quite long and are allegedly conspiring to target high profile personalities in Delhi by carrying out 'fidayeen' (suicide attacks) or grenade attacks either themselves or through their cadres."
