Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 5: Joint Action Committee (General Category) today took out a 'candle march' in support of early implementation of J&K High Court Order in regard to 'reservation in promotions here today in winter capital of state. Holding banners, placards seeking implementation of J&K High court Judgment regarding Reservation in Promotions, the ralliest sought early implementation of HC's Reservation judgment as the reservations are helping only few families who are already well off and also well placed in strata of society. The Committee and participants also condemned the remarks from certain politicians including elected representatives which had appeared in certain media section and described it as 'mockery of legal system and breach of oath. In a massive show of strength Joint Action Committee, General category today took out a candle march demanding early implementation of High court direction which started from Brahmin Sabha, (Parade) and which after passing through various markets of city culminated at Shri Ranvireshwar temple Shalimar Road. Speakers from Joint Action Committee (General category) addressing the candle marchers described that reservations have adversely affected the General category people. The Gazetted, Non-Gazetted employees along with their families, Engineers, lawyers, educationists, businessmen, students, social organisations participated in the peaceful candle march. The JAC (General Category) through this candle march has sought immediate implementation of High Court Order in letter and spirits. The Committee has stated it has full faith in democratic system of nation and law of land and hoped that High Court directions shall be honoured. |
